We hope you enjoy the comfort, beauty, design and feel of your Su Casa Designs furniture. To ensure a satisfying experience, as with any product, there are a few special points to consider:
With leather, perfection is not flawless. All types of leather has some subtle markings caused by the healed nicks and cuts that occur during the life of the animal. Because these natural markings give each leather item its unique beauty and character. The natural markings do not necessarily affect the leather’s durability.
Please expect that cushioning will soften over time. We advise that you expect this to happen as a result of normal use, and not to confuse it with loss of resilience due to defects in constructions or the materials.
All leather stretches over time and with consistent use. This is not a design flaw but a characteristic of the material used and the design of the suite. The fabric and leather will eventually loosen and relax to give your suite that “matured”, comfortable “lived-in” lifestyle look.
From batch to batch, colour variation may occur. Su Casa Designs cannot guarantee an exact dye-batch match with repeat or add-on orders;
Over time, your leather furniture won’t look the same as it does today. That’s part of leather’s unique appeal. Leather ages beautifully, each product taking on its own patina (a deep, natural luster) as the leather ages.
Su Casa products are durable and resistant. To keep it that way, it is important to care for your products correctly. To maintain the quality of your Su Casa Designs purchases, please follow the cleaning procedures outlined here.
Position your leather items away from air conditioners, heat sources, and prolonged direct sunlight. Do not position it under an air condition vent, close to a fireplace or heater, or expose it to consistent direct sunlight.
Customers should consider covering their leather items with lightweight sheets when not in use. This will protect it from dirt and dust, and it won’t need to be cleaned as often. This will keep sunlight off it, which can dry out and crack the leather over time.
Do not use saddle soap, cleaning solvents, oils, furniture polishes, varnishes, abrasive cleaners, detergents, or ammonia on furniture; they will ruin the finish, causing it to become sticky and cracked.
Common household cleaning products that will harm and damage your furniture include:
multi-surface polish,
all-purpose cleaner, Furniture Polish, dishwashing liquids,
vinegar,
mayonnaise,
hair care products, etc.
Su Casa Designs does not endorse the use of any furniture care products including cleansers, creams and conditioners.
USING ANY OF THE ABOVE PRODUCTS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY ON YOUR FURNITURE.
Normal or Frequent Cleaning
Remove dirt by using a Vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
Dust or wipe frequently with a clean, soft and dry microfibre cloth. Purchase a new cloth to be used just on your new furniture. Always be sure to use a soft cloth and never use an abrasive brush or scrubber as this can scratch and damage the furniture.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE A CLOTH THAT HAS BEEN USED TO CLEAN OTHER SURFACES AND THAT MAY HAVE ANY CLEANING MATERIAL RESIDUE ON IT.
Soiled or Dirty Furniture
If the furniture is soiled or dirty it can be wiped with a damp clean and soft microfibre cloth using lukewarm water.
Make sure that the cloth is not soaking wet. Never let the water soak into furniture.
If further cleaning is necessary, create a lather of mild, nonabrasive soap (like the Dove brand) with lukewarm water.
Moisten the clean, soft and dry microfibre cloth in the water and wipe the furniture.
Test an inconspicuous spot with the cloth to make sure there’s no discoloration from the soap and water.
Do not spot clean your furniture; clean the entire surface.
Let the furniture air dry; never use a hair dryer or other heat source to dry any furniture.
Spots and Spills
Wipe excess liquid immediately with a clean cloth or sponge; let the furniture air dry. The most important thing is to clean the spill up quickly so that it does not have time to soak into the furniture.
Stubborn Spots and Stains
Apply a mild, nonabrasive soap solution with a clean, wet sponge. Rinse well and let air dry.
Butter, Oil, or Grease
Wipe the furniture with a clean, dry cloth and let the remainder of the oil dissipate.
Do not apply water or try to wash a grease spot.
If the stain remains, contact a professional cleaner.
Large Areas
If large areas are soiled, contact a professional cleaning firm.
If you need to put furniture into a storage unit for a time, get it professionally cleaned beforehand and ensure it is thoroughly dried. Place a plastic sheet under it to combat moisture seeping in.
Leather needs to breathe, so never wrap leather furniture in plastic as this will cause moisture to build up and ruin the leather.
Never place other heavy items on top of leather furniture as this can cause irreparable indentations in the leather. Place leather furniture on top of wooden pallets to keep it off of the ground.
